Tim is the Vice President of Operations for SERC Reliability Corporation, and is responsible for several program areas, including Physical and Cyber Security, CIP and O&P Reliability Assessments, Registration & Certification, Situational Awareness and Events Analysis (SA/EA), Analytics and Data Analysis, Reliability Assessments and Performance Analysis (RAPA), Engineering, and Technical Services. 

Tim’s background includes leading control center operations, transmission operations, transmission planning, transmission maintenance, resource planning, load forecasting, system planning, distribution engineering, rate design, customer service, regulatory policy and compliance, industrial marketing, plus many years of experience serving on the SERC Board of Directors and NERC committees. 

Prior to joining SERC, Tim worked several jobs at TVA, where he held a variety of executive level positions, including Vice President of Transmission Operations & Power Supply (TOPS), where he was responsible for TVA’s 7 state area, TVA’s Reliability Coordinator function (covering all or parts of 11 states), plus TVA’s Network Operations Center, Transmission Operations, Real Time Power Trading, and Power Origination. 

Prior to joining TVA, Tim worked in several different positions at Entergy, including manager of Entergy’s System and Grid Operations Center, with responsibility across 4 states, and Reliability Coordinator responsibility across parts of seven states. In this role, he was also responsible for transitioning real time operations to implement FERC orders 888 and 889. 

From 2015-2017 Tim served as the Vice Chair of the SERC Board of Directors and from 2016-2017 he served as the Chair of the Eastern Interconnect Planning Collaborative (EIPC).  

Tim graduated summa cum laude from Tulane University, with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He is a member of the National Engineering Honor Society, the National Electrical Engineering Honor Society, the National Leadership Honor Society, and was also a NERC Certified System Operator.
