Registration & Certification
Bulk power system owners, operators, and users that meet certain criteria are required to register with NERC. Once registered, an entity must verify its registration annually with SERC. The NERC Bulk Electric System Definition provides important criteria used to determine if registration is required. In addition, the entities that are registered for the Reliability Coordinator (RC), Balancing Authority (BA), and Transmission Operator (TOP) roles are also required to be certified.
