SERC’s vibrant Technical Committees and their subgroups provide a vehicle by which SERC engages reliability expertise through active participation of industry volunteers. SERC’s leading-edge technical committee structure provides a partnership with stakeholders to collectively solve technical risks facing the grid. This partnership with the industry allows SERC to more deeply and truly understand the reliability and security challenges the SERC Region faces. SERC’s robust and collaborative technical committee program makes SERC a leader in the ERO Enterprise in analyzing, prioritizing, and mitigating risks to the Bulk Power System.

Standing Committees
SERC has four standing committees: Critical Infrastructure Protection Committee (CIPC), Engineering Committee (EC), Operating Committee (OC), and Standards Committee (SC). The standing committee reports to the SERC Board of Directors to ensure that the work performed by the committees are aligned with the mission and vision of SERC.

Membership Eligibility
Participation in SERC Technical Committees and their subgroups is open to SERC member companies. To participate in a committee, the following have to be true: your company is a member, and you meet the criteria (e.g., registration and not a marketer) identified in the committee’s scope document. To be considered for joining a committee or to update a current committee roster
