Each SERC member company that has a representative appointed to the SERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Committee is entitled to appoint one representative and one alternate to the Critical Infrastructure Protection Committee – Physical Security Subcommittee. Each Critical Infrastructure Protection Committee – Physical Security Subcommittee representative and alternate should demonstrate physical security expertise in the electric industry.

Voting Membership (All other Committees Definition)

• Primary Representative – Represents one member and is authorized one vote.
• Alternate Representative – Represents one member when a representative is not present and is authorized one vote when activated.
  
  

Non-Voting Member

Observer – Additional representative of a member entity who has a business interest in the information presented with a non-marketing interest in the committee, sub-committee, or working group. An Observer for the CIPC-PSS is subject to the same requirements for membership as a representative or alternate representative including signing the SERC Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). An Observer is included in the committee roster and may participate in committee activities but has no voting privileges.

CIPC-PSS representatives shall serve for a term of two years, but can be re-appointed. Terms should be staggered, when possible, to permit the presence of experienced CIPC-PSS representatives and alternates. The SERC CIPC chair shall appoint a CIPC-PSS representative to serve as the CIPC-PSS chair and a CIPC-PSS representative to serve as vice chair.
